Malayalam cinema is intelligent, I would love to do a film very soon, says Akshay Kumar

Priyadarshan directorial Hera Pheri, a remake of 1989 Malayalam blockbuster, Ramji Rao Speaking, not only provided the much needed hit for Akshay Kumar in early 2000, but also gave a chance for the audience to notice his comic timing. Post Hera Pheri, Akshay Kumar has done many comedy films.

Recently Akshay Kumar said that he would love to do a Malayalam film very soon. The actor was speaking to Club FM RJ, Sneha Unnikrishnan in Dubai.

Akshay was quoted as saying;

If I get a brilliant script in Malayalam, I will tell Priyadarshan sir to make it in Malayalam first and then remake it in Hindi (laughs). Jokes apart, Yes I'm ready for it. I'm doing a Tamil film. So why I shouldn't do a Malayalam film? In fact, Malayalam cinema is intellectual​. I have done many Malayalam remakes in Hindi with Priyadarshan sir. Even Hera Pheri was a remake of a Malayalam film. So I would love to do a Malayalam cinema, very soon.​"

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 is slated to be released on February 10. The film, a sequel to Subhash Kapoor's 2015 hit, Jolly LLBstars Huma Qureshi as the female lead.
