Kerala Box Office Round up: Prithviraj's Paavada, Nivin Pauly's Action Hero Biju score big in 2016

A month and a half into 2016 and the Malayalam Box Office has already seen a number of hits, boasting power packed performances. Here's a look at the films that have found favour with audiences so far:

Puthiya Niyamam

Mammootty's, first film of 2016, Puthiya Niyamam opened to packed theatres in Kerala. The film, by AK Sajan, which also stars Nayantara and Sheelu Abhraham, collected a solid Rs 4.46 crore within first weekend.

The film, which released on 12 February, has also managed to garner positive reviews and is now heading towards being labelled a Box Office blockbuster.

Box Office verdict = To Be Announced

Maheshinte Prathikaram

After a string of flops, Maheshinte Prathikaram could prove to be the comeback vehicle that Fahadh Faasil needs. The film has collected Rs 5.5 crore after 10 days of its release

Box Office verdict = HIT

Action Hero Biju

Nivin Pauly's film, Action Hero Biju opened to mixed reviews. However, the film has displayed an upward trend in collections. However, the film has underperformed - considering the hype after Pauly's back-to-back hits in 2015 - Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Premam. The film, produced by Pauly and made on a budget of Rs 2 crore, crossed the Rs 8 crore mark by its second weekend.

Paavada

Paavada completed its one month run at the Box Office with collections of over Rs 15 crore. Actor Prithviraj's golden run at the Box Office continued with Paavada which is now the actor's fourth super hit in 4 months - after Ennu Ninte Moideen, Amar Akbar Anthony and Anarkali.

Verdict = Super Hit

Two countries

The Dileep, Mamta Mohandas-starrer, which released in Christmas 2015 completed 50 days at the Box Office. The blockbuster film, still running to packed houses collected a massive Rs 33 crores at the end of its 50 days.

Verdict = Blockbuster
