Kerala Box Office: Mohanlal's Vismayam, Guppy, and Ann Maria​ Kalippilanu open to great response

Friday saw the release of three films at the Kerala Box Office -- Vismayam, the Malayalam dubbed version of Mohanlal's Telugu film Manamantha, Guppy, and Ann Maria Kalippilanu. Luckily, all three films opened to extreme positive reports all over Kerala.

Ann Maria Kalippilanu

Ann Maria Kalippilanu tells the story of a school girl and her relationship with a fraudster. Baby Sara Arjun of Deiva Thirumagal fame portrays the school girl, Ann Maria while Sunny Wayne essays the role of fraudster Gireesh. The film has been praised for the performances of lead actors and Dulquer Salman's cameo in the film.

Guppy

The second release of the week, Guppy, has also impressed the audience. The film, which marks the directorial debut of Johnpaul George, narrates the story of a boy named Guppy and his childhood experiences. Master Chethan is donning the role of Guppy. The film also stars seasoned actor Sreenivasan and Tovino Thomas. Similar to Ann Maria Kalippilanu,Guppy is also receiving an overwhelming response from critics and audience alike for its content and performances by the leading cast. Tovino Thomas's performance is reportedly touted as his career-best performance.

Vismayam

The third release of the year is Vismayam, the Malayalam dubbed version of Mohanlal's Telugu film, Manamantha. The film is a complete family entertainer which focuses on four personal stories. Vismayam, which is written and directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, also stars Gautami, Viswant Duddumpudi, and baby Avantika Vandanapu. The film has succeeded in getting great reviews from the audience. Baahubali director SS Rajamouli lauded the Mohanlal starrer as a "textbook for every film student".

Looks like a good weekend ahead for Kerala Box office.
