Janatha Garage: Mohanlal-Jr.NTR film completes 50 days at Box office

2016's biggest Telugu blockbuster, Janatha Garage successfully completed its 50-day theatrical run on 20 October. The Koratala Siva directorial action-thriller, which released on 1 September 2016 to houseful shows is still running to packed houses in more than 40 cinemas at the Telugu Box Office.

By the end of its 50-theatrical days, Janatha Garage collected Rs. 140 crore at the Box Office worldwide. Reportedly, the film had earned a share of Rs 86 crore for its global distributors. The Sreemanthudu director's second outing has crossed the coveted Rs. 100 crore mark within six days of theatrical release to become the second fastest Rs. 100 crore Telugu grosser after Baahubali.

Janatha Garage has set new Rs. 100 crore-records for its lead actors as well. The film has become the first Jr NTR starrer to cross the coveted Rs 100-crore mark at the Box Office and with this feat, the Temper actor is now the seventh Telugu actor to do the same. The film also marked the maiden Rs. 100 crore grosser for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Malayalam youth icon Unni Mukundan. Janatha Garage also marks the second collaboration between Samantha Prabhu and Nithya Menen in 2016 after the Tamil super hit film 24. And similar to the Suriya film, Janatha Garage also crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Box Office.

The action-entertainer also starred Sai Kumar, Rahman, Sithara, Devyani and Vidisha Srivastava in supporting roles.
