Janatha Garage: Excellent opening in Telugu-speaking centres, average business at Kerala Box Office

Today saw the release of the much-awaited Telugu film of the year, Janatha Garage. And as expected, film opened to a flying start at the Telugu Box Office. In most theatres, fan shows were scheduled in the early hours of the morning and tickets were sold out like hot cakes. The film has reportedly released in more than 300 cinemas at Nizam alone, which is touted as the biggest center for Telugu films.

The combination of Jr NTR - Mohanlal - Unni Mukundan has worked wonders for the film as it is earning praise for their performances. The film is getting excellent reports from Chennai and Bengaluru as well.

Meanwhile, the Malayalam dubbed version of Janatha Garage has opened to an average response at the Kerala Box Office. The film was expected to take a bumper start in Kerala, but the Thursday release and lack of promotions there worked against it.

Overall, the start of Janatha Garage is huge and there's a good chance it will become the top Telugu opener of the year.
