The official trailer and music of Chiyaan Vikram's upcoming film, Iru Mugan, has been launched on Tuesday morning. Producer Shibu Thameens organised a mega event to launch the trailer and music at Sathyam Cinemas, one of the popular cinemas in Chennai. The action-packed trailer was launched by Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan and Malayalam superstar Nivin Pauly.

The two-minute eighteen-second trailer introduces the lead characters of the film. Chiyaan Vikram will be seen essaying dual roles, as Akhilan, a RAW agent and a transgender villain, Love. Nithya Menen portrays Anasuya, Vikram's colleague. However, her much-hyped new look is nothing to write home about. Nayanthara will be seen enacting Halena, Vikram's love interest in the film. The Raja Rani actress is getting hotter with each passing day and it is visible in the trailer due to her sizzling chemistry with Vikram.

But the real scene-stealer of the trailer is Vikram as the transgender villain, Love. The Anniyanactor has proved again why he is labelled one of the most dedicated actors in the country.

The trailer is visually rich and deserves a special mention in the technical aspects as well. The background music is first rate and the cinematography takes the trailer to a completely different level. The trailer also includes a few high-octane action sequences which seem to have been shot in exotic locales of Malaysia. From the trailer, it is evident that film has all the commercial ingredients to become a big winner at the Box Office.

Written and directed by Anand Shankar, the music of Iru Mugan has been composed by Harris Jayaraj. The film is slated to hit the screens on 9 September, 2016.
