The much-awaited Tamil film of the year, Vijay starrer Theri is enjoying a historical opening at the Kerala Box Office. The film has registered 100% occupancy across Kerala for the morning shows and has reportedly released on 202 screens, which is the fourth highest release ever in Kerala.
Atlee's second directorial outing gets 42 screens in Cochin and 38 screens in Trivandrum. Public demand
necessitated screening the film
as early as 4.30AM and tickets sold like hot cakes. However, Theri's release has negatively impacted recently-released Malayalam films like King Liar and Kali. Both films were expected to fly high today due to Vishu, which is a public holiday in Kerala. Unfortunately, Theri's grand release has
adversely
affected the number of screens both these films were accorded, that too on a holiday.Theri's positive reports indicate that the film may just surpass Kerala's highest opener till now, the Vikram starrer 'I'.
