Exclusive: Inspector Dawood Ibrahim is actor Jayasurya's biggest movie till date, says producer

The trailer of one of the most-awaited Malayalam film​ of the year, Inspector Dawood Ibrahim (IDI) was release​d on Monday evening​. The film stars National-Award winning actor Jayasurya in a never-seen-before mass avatar as Inspector Dawood Ibrahim despite having played a cop in films like Mumbai Police and Robinhood. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Sajid Yahiya. The story has been jointly written by Sajid Yahiya and Arouz Irfan.

In an exclusive interview to Catch, Dr Ajaz Ibrahim, the joint producer of IDI along with Arun and Eros International, stated that Inspector Dawood Ibrahim will be the first Malayalam mass entertainer with all the commercial elements including top action scenes and excellent comedy. He also ​revealed that IDI will the biggest movie of Jayasurya's acting career.

He said:

"There are lot of mass entertainers releasing in Tamil and Bollywood. Be it Vijay's Tamil film Theri or Bollywood films like Salman Khan's Dabangg and Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore; most of the mass entertainers with hero playing a police officer have turned out to be good successes at the Box Office. All these films had won critical acclaim​​ as well.

But when it comes to our Malayalam industry, such films are barely made. And I can proudly say that it's the first time in Malayalam film industry, an action-oriented film with comedy which has all the commercial elements is being made. Inspector Dawood Ibrahim is a real mass entertainer with equal dose of action scenes and comedy scenes for all the film lovers. IDI is actor Jayasurya's biggest movie till date."
