Balayya's 100th film ​G​autamiputra Satakarni​ to hit the screens on 12 January

The 100th film of Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, Gautamip​utra Satakarni finally gets a release date. Written and d​irected by National-award winner Krish aka Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, Gautamip​utra Satakarni stars Shriya Saran as the female lead. Jointly produced by Saibabu Jagarlamudi, Y Rajeev Reddy and Suhasini Pangulur, the film is based on life history of 2nd century Satavahana ruler, Gautamip​utra Satakarni.

​Gautami​p​utra Satakarni​ ​​​also marks the Telugu comeback of Bollywood veteran​ actress​ Hema Malini after a 25-year gap. The Dream Girl was last seen in Tollywood in the 1971 film, Sri Krishna Vijayam.E​arlier, there were reports that ​​​​Gautami​p​utra Satakarni​ will hit the screens on the auspicious occasion of Chrsitmas 2016 , but later makers denied the news.

And now, the makers of the film had revealed that they have decided to release their upcoming magnum-opus on 12 January 2017, to celebrate the Sankranthi festival by honouring the Telugu culture and history.The music of ​​Gautami​p​utra Satakarni has been composed by Chirantan Bhatt while Gnana Shekar VS cranks the camera for the film​.​
