Bairavaa beats Theri: Distribution rights of Ilayathalapathy Vijay-starrer sold for a record price

The shooting of the much-awaited Tamil film of 2017, Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Bairavaa is yet-to-be concluded, but the film has already started breaking records of his earlier blockbuster, Theri. The film, written and directed by Bharathan, is touted to be an action-family entertainer. Bairavaa stars Keerthy Suresh - of Rajini Murugan fame - as well as Jagapati Babu, Aparna Vinod, YG Mahendraa and Daniel Balaji.

Earlier, Catch had reported that the entire Tamil Nadu distribution of Bairavaa has been sold to Sri Green Productions for a record price. And now, they have started the area-wise business for Bairavaa.

According to our sources, the Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, North Arcot and South Arcot rights of Bairavaa have been sold much higher than Theri. The Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and South Arcot rights have been sealed at Rs 3.5 crore each while the North Arcot rights have been sold for Rs 3.7 crore. With such a huge deal, Bairvaa surpassed the pre-release business of Theri in the same regions.

Meanwhile, the first teaser of Bairavaa is expected to be revealed on Diwali.
