The shooting of Mohanlal's upcoming release Villain is currently on a break after wrapping up two schedules of the film. Directed by B Unni Krishnan and produced by Rockline Venkatesh, the maker of Salman Khan blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Villain stars Mohanlal in the role of a retired cop, Mathew Manjooran.

The teaser of the film, which had released on April 27, is said to have clocked almost 6 million views on YouTube. The action packed teaser made way to several debates on film's story lines and its action sequences.

However, B Unnikrishnan is not happy with few film forums spreading fake news about his film on social media. The Madambi actor took to his Facebook page to lash out at them.

"I have noticed few discussions on social media about the screenplay and making of my upcoming film Villain. Few film forums are spreading fake news with the pics of actor Srikanth published in a leading daily. And few people are debating over the 8K technology used in the film. People should not approach movies based on some fake reports as it not only affects the director but an entire crew and their hardwork", B Unnikrishnan said.

Villain was in news ever since B Unni Krishnan revealed that the film will be India's first film to be released in 8K technology. The film will also see Telugu actor Srikanth making his Malayalam debut. The Mahatma actor is donning a significant role in the film.

Villain stars Manju Warrier in the female lead and also marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil actors Vishal, Hansika Motwani and Telugu actress Raashi Khanna of Madras Cafe fame.Villain was in news ever since B Unni Krishnan revealed that the film will be India's first film to be released in 8K technology.
