Aami: Anoop Menon joins Vidya Balan in Kamala Surayya's biopic

One of the most anticipated Malayalam movies of this year, Aami, made news recently when the starcast was announced. Directed by Kamal, Aami marks the comeback of Bollywood actress Vidya Balan in Malayalam cinema after a gap of five years. The National Award-winning actress's last Malayalam film was Urumi in 2011.

Balan will play the lead role in Aami which will be a biopic of late poet and litterateur Kamala Surayya. The film stars Prithviraj as the narrator and Murali Gopi as her husband.

And now, actor Anoop Menon has joined the cast of the film. The Thirakkatha actor confirmed that he will be playing an important role in the film. This will be Anoop Menon's fourth film with Prithviraj after Thirakkatha, Hero, and the recently released Pavada.

Meanwhile, Kamal will be achieving the milestone of completing 30 years in the Malayalam film industry with Aami. The veteran director's first film was Mizhineerppoovukal in 1986 starring Mohanlal.
