100 days of Chiranjeev's Khaidi No 150: Few interesting facts about the all-time second Telugu blockbuster

Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's Khaidi No 150 has successfully completed 100 theatrical days at the Telugu Box Office. Directed by VV Vinayak and produced by Chiranjeevi’s son and actor-producer Ram Charan, the film was a remake of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Tamil blockbuster Kaththi. Khaidi No 150 also marks the acting comeback of Chiranjeevi after the nine-year-long break. His last release, Shankar Dada Zindabad—the Telugu remake of Bollywood hit Munnabhai MBBS—was released in 2007.

Upon its release, Khaidi No 150 created history by becoming the first Telugu film to mint Rs. 50 crore worldwide on its opening day. The 150th film of Chiranjeevi has also broken the opening day record of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning at the Tollywood Box Office. The Prabhas, Rana Daggubati film had minted Rs. 22.40 crore on its opening whereas Khaidi No 150 surpassed the record by collecting Rs. 23.24 crore on its first day.

The film also set an all-time record in Uttarandhra by crossing the lifetime collections of Baahubali in 10-theatrical days. The Chiranjeevi starrer has grossed a terrific Rs 10 crore in Uttarandhra to shatter the record set by the Prabhas – Rana Daggubati blockbuster. In North America, Khaidi No 150 had minted nearly Rs. 10 crores within two days to become the second biggest Telugu opener.

However, unlike Baahubali, the collections of Khaidi No 150 registered a dip after two weeks at the Box Office. The film, which is still running in limited screens across the Telugu cinemas has so far minted Rs. 164 crore worldwide to become the all-time second Telugu blockbuster after Baahubali. Khaidi No 150 also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Tarun Arora, Ali and Tanikella Bharani.
