'Sushant Singh not rajput': RJD MLA Arun Yadav's comment on late actor triggers political row [watch]

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Arun Yadav’s recent remark on late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has fanned the flames of political row with many criticising the legislator. The RJD leader had stated that actor Sushant is not a Rajput as those belonging to Maharana Pratap’s dynasty do not die by suicide.

Arun Yadav’s remark came on Wednesday during an inauguration of a newly-built road in Bihar’s Saharsa district. The remark has triggered a nationwide criticism with many asking Yadav to apologise.


 

Ths state of Bihar is at the moment gearing up for the upcoming Legislative Assembly election and with the late actor belonging from Bihar, his demise has transformed into a political issue.

Condemning the MLA’s comment as ‘bizarre and shameful’, JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad asked the MLA to apologise to Bihar and Sushant’s fans.

“There cannot be a more bizarre and shameful statement than the one made by the RJD MLA on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, which has moved the entire nation. The MLA should seek an apology from the people of the state and Sushant’s fans,” JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad was quoted by PTI.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nikhil Anand criticized RJD MLA’s Arun remark and stated that its “rubbish and covered in casteism mentality”. He also slammed RJD party by dubbing their leaders and workers as “habitual offenders”.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging on 14th June at his Bandra residence. Mumbai Police had declared it a case of death by suicide. But, the late actor’s father, KK Singh lodged an FIR in Patna under sections related to abetment to suicide and later demanded a CBI probe.
