Singer Zubeen Garg on Sunday launch a fresh attack on newly enacted Citizenship Law and said a revolution against the CAA has already begun in Assam, reported PTI.

"BJP doesn't like Assam's sociocultural harmony, so through the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), they are trying to create a binary of Hindu-Muslim, Assamese-Bengali, "we will not allow Assam to become someone's laboratory", Zubeen Garg said to PTI.

"A revolution has begun in Assam, people have risen against the 'unjust legislation' and won't buckle under pressure," said Zubeen Garg.

Likening the situation of Assam to that in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of provisions of Article 370, the singer said, "we will not accept CAA at any cost, it has to go."

"The government is trying to dominate us, never seen a curfew-like this in Assam. This is a dictatorship. They are trying to create havoc in Assam as they did in Kashmir," the singer said.

Refusing to join politics, the singer said, "We don't need BJP anymore, no AGP or Congress either; need a new party. Work already started on that."

"I hate politics and so will never join politics, but help form a party with help of people," he added.
