Weather: Rainfall likely in Delhi, Rajasthan for 24 hours; check full forecast here

The rainfall and thunderstorm activities in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan are expected to continue for the next 24 hours, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on March 31.

The same weather conditions are also likely to persist today in eastern Indian states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, and West Bengal.


According to the weather department, the rainfall, thunderstorm and hailstorm activities will continue in Northwest and East India for the next 24 hours, and after that, these activities will be reduced.

Last 24 Hours Weather

  • Light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm activities were recorded in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Telengana, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the last 24 hours.
  • Heavy rainfall occurred in isolated places of West Bengal and Odisha.
  • Hailstorm recorded in isolated parts of Delhi, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.

Western Disturbance

The IMD has identified a western disturbance over North Pakistan in lower and mid tropospheric levels, along with a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Rajasthan in lower tropospheric levels. A new western disturbance is expected to affect Delhi, Punjab, Rajsathan and Haryana from night of April 2.

Under the influence of the disturbance, rainfall, thunderstorm and isolated hailstorm are expected in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan from March 31 to April 2.

West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand and Odisha are very likely to witness scattered rainfall along with thunderstorm from March 31 to April 2.

Widespread rainfall along with gusty winds is very likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur from March 31 to April 4.

Maximum Temperature Forecast

The daytime temperatures are below normal by 2-4 degrees Celsius over most parts of the country for next five days.

No heat wave warning in the country for the next five days.
