Weather: Delhi, Rajasthan temperature likely to drop; heavy rainfall expected in Arunachal, Assam, check forecast

The daytime temperature in Northwest India is likely to decrease by 1-2 degrees Celsius from tomorrow, the Indian Meteorological Department said on February 21.

According to the weather department, the current Western Disturbance is affecting the Western Himalayan region. Under its effect, the temperature in Northwest India is expected to fall tomorrow.


Weather Forecast

Scattered rainfall is predicted over Northeast India till February 23 with isolated heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh and northeast Assam on February 21 and 22.

The maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 3-5 degrees Celsius in Northwest, Central, and West India in the next 5 days.

The maximum temperature is expected to fall by 2 degree Celsius in Northwest India in the next 2 days.

Maximum and Minimum Temperature of Last 24 hours

The daytime temperature was in the range of 35–39 degrees Celsius in parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.

The maximum temperature was 3-5 degrees Celcius above the normal temperature in parts of Northwest, Central and West India.

Rainfall was witnessed in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Isolated places of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, and Nagaland also received rainfall in the same period.

Rainfall Forecast

The weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in next 24 hours.

Thunderstorm is likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur on February 21 and 22.

Rajasthan Weather

The IMD reported dry weather in most parts of the desert state with dense fog in Ganganagar in the last 24 hours. Tomorrow’s weather is also expected to remain dry.

Jaipur Weather

The maximum and minimum temperatures of Jaipur in the last 24 hours were 34.2 and 19.2 respectively.

“Whatever the WD has influenced our region, it has caused rainfall activity over high reaches only. Weather was mainly dry over northwest & central India from the last so many days. So the sky is clear which is favourable for rising temperature tendency over the region,” said IMD scientist Naresh Kumar.
