Watch: Union Minister Harshvardhan as Raja Janak with a moustache and in royal attire in Ram Leela in Delhi

On the occasion of Navratra, Rameela act is widely performed across the country. On Friday night, Union Minister Harshvardhan was also seen in participating in the Luv Kush Ram Leela in Old Delhi.

Minister for Environment Forest and Climate Change in a moustache and a royal attire was unrecognizable. Harshvardhan playing the role of Sita's father king Janak at Red Fort. Harsh Vardhan assumed a different role -- legendary king Janak of Mithila. He essayed the role of Sita's father king Janak at Red Fort.


Speaking chaste Hindi, the minister, along with other artists, enacted the scene of Sita's swayamwar from the Ramayana.

Sharing some photos on Twitter he wrote, "I had the privilege of playing the role of Sita's father Raja Janak this Friday in Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee. My childhood was spent watching Ram Leela at the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. But I will always remember this year's Ram Leela experience on stage which will excite me throughout my life."

Harsh Vardhan is currently the Union Minister of Science and Technology and the Lok Sabha MP from New Delhi. Bhojpuri actor and singer-turned-politician and Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari have also performed in previous Ramleela in New Delhi, among others.
