Watch: Fresh snowfall gracing Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal is a sight to behold

Winter is in its full glory in northern India, with some braving the chills, while others prefer to take in the scenery from the comfort of their homes. North India is currently experiencing a cold wave, with dense fog blanketing the region.

Parts of Jammu and Kashmir received fresh snowfall today. Patnitop, in Ramban district, turned into a snow wonderland after receiving fresh snowfall today. Tourists who flocked to Patnitop to celebrate their New Year are enjoying the weather and snow.

Meanwhile, parts of Himachal Pradesh are also covered in a thick layer of fresh snow. Shimla district's Narkanda streets were seen wrapped in white, reminiscent of European winter.

It’s a dream come true for tourists who flocked to Shimla to bid adieu to the current year in the middle of snow-clad mountains and pine trees. Higher raches of the hill state have also received new snowfall in the last 24 hours.

North India has been battling severe cold waves since last week. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that the cold wave condition will prevail in the region for at least few more days.

Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh continued to witness dense fog amid plummeting temperatures.

Delhi has witnessed a temperature rise but the bone-chilling cold will be back after December 31.

The weather department predicted that the national capital is likely to witness dense fog and cold wave conditions from January 1 to 4.
