The wreath laying ceremony of Border Security Forces (BSF) constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh, who lost his life in the ceasefire violation conducted by Pakistan in Arnia Sector last night, was performed with full honour in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia District on 16 September.

Large number of villagers, along with police officials and BSF soldiers, gathered to pay homage to the slain constable.

Singh died yesterday after Pakistani Rangers opened heavy fire and shot mortars on Indian posts along the 198-km-long international border in Arnia Sector of RS Pura in Jammu district.

The slain constable is survived by his parents and wife Sushmita Singh.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shrikant Sharma has announced Rs. 25 lakh compensation to the kin of the slain constable.
