Two tankers water wasted in drought-hit areas to welcome CM Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has drawn criticism after two tankers of water were used to clean the roads ahead of his visit to Bagalkot district on 18 April.
In the view of roads being dusty, the officials decided to cover the road, which leads to Bilagi Cross, with two tankers worth of water to welcome the CM - who is currently touring drought-hit areas to analyse the situation.
The villagers in the area are reportedly surviving on two pots of water everyday. And the act of using water to clean the roads has left the villagers furious. When asked about the matter at a press conference in Bagalkot later that day, the chief minister said, "I will instruct the DC to enquire about it."v
