Telangana Assembly Election 2018: Rahul Gandhi praises alliance with Chandrababu Naidu, says, 'we like each other'

As the Telangana election is approaching, Rahul Gandhi has asserted that his alliance partner N Chandrababu Naidu is a good friend and they both like each other.

The Congress party has aligned with the Telgu Desam Party and the Communist Party of India for the upcoming Telangana polls and has projected a grand alliance which the Opposition parties are in fray for the 2019 General Election.


Rahul Gandhi, while campaigning in Hyderabad, told the NDTV that “We like each other. We think there is a lot we can do together and I think, you're going to see that in these next coming elections, we are going to win elections.”

The two leaders who were earlier a foe have turned into friend as the demand and the circumstances have created a run for the party’s, to remain significant in the time of Modi-Shah juggernaut, led by the BJP.

Earlier, it was the TDP who had called off their alliance with the BJP and said that the latter is not true to its promises of providing Andhra Pradesh a special status or the package for development.

N Chandrababu Naidu has recently said, “Today there is a democratic compulsion which overcomes political compulsions. That’s why we’re joining (alliance), even those who at some stage had differences with Congress, we’ve to come together to fight the elections to save India and democracy.”

Rahul Gandhi also added that, “We are working together and we are working together because there is a threat to this nation from the PM, from the BJP.”
