According to Chandrashekhar’s lawyer, Anant Malik, a high-powered committee took his statement regarding the money transactions and said that the allegations made by Chandrashekhar are serious. The committee has also recommended a thorough probe into the matter.

“A high-powered committee took his statement & the committee has given its recommendations & held that allegations are serious & a probe should be done,” Adv Anant Malik said, as quioted by ANI.

Meanwhile, the court has allowed the ED to take possession of 26 luxury cars from Chandrashekhar’s wife Leena Maria Paul.

Last month, Sukesh Chandrashekhar wrote a letter to Delhi LG requesting to transfer him and his wife from Delhi jail to any other jail across India. In the letter, Chandrashekhar alleged that he is getting constant threats and pressure to withdraw complaints registered against AAP leaders.

Currently, the conman and his wife is lodged in Delhi's Mandoli jail.

He is charged with multi-crore fraud cases and is also accused of extorting Rs 200 crore from the family of former Fortis Healthcare and Ranbaxy Lab promoters Shivinder and Malvinder Singh from the premises of the Tihar Jail.

Chandrashekhar was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to the 2017 Election Commission bribery instance allegedly involving former AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran and others.

Some Bollywood actors and models have been questioned by the ED for their alleged links with Chandrashekhar.
