Students need to beware of PFI, targeting educated Muslims: Muslim Rashtriya Manch

PFI targeting educated Muslims

Amid National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) pan India raids against Popular Front of India (PFI), Muslim Rashtriya Manch National Convenor Maulana Suhaib Qasmi on December 30 urged Muslim youths to stay away from the PFI and outfits like it.

“India is a peaceful country and Muslims have stayed here for years. Students need to stay aware of organisations like PFI”, said Qasmi.


He said that the banned outfit is now targeting educated Muslims specially youths in states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and its intention is to misguide them in schools and Madrasas.

“Government has destroyed its intentions and PFI is now using modern names to do their work,” he added.

Maulana Suhaib Qasmi’s remarks came after NIA’s massive actions against the banned outfit in Telangana and Kerala yesterday.

The Central Agency yesterday arrested an advocate from Kerala. According to NIA, advocate Mohammed Mubarak is a member and a trainer of the banned outfit’s martial art and hit squad. Mubarak is a resident of Edavanakkad in Ernakulam district.

“The squad was engaged in training and raising gangs to target leaders of other communities,” said NIA in an official release.

Recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) also conducted searches at 56 locations connected to activists and leaders of PFI across Kerala.

In Andhra Pradesh, the NIA filed a charge sheet against 11 people who were arrested for allegedly organising terrorist training camps and recruiting members for PFI in Telangana.
