Shiv Sena’s Nitin Nandgaonkar is once again making headlines for threatening and being at odds with a senior doctor for not handing over the body of a coronavirus patient to his family and charging extremely high for the treatment.

In a video which has gone viral on the internet the Shiv Sena leader can be seen engaging in a verbal bust-up with the Chief Executive Officer of Powai’s LH Hiranandani Hospital and creating a rumpus in the hospital.

Nitin Nandgaonkar alleged that the hospital officials didn’t hand over the patient’s body, who was an auto driver, and demanded for more money if they wanted to acquire it.

Asking the doctor and other staffs to show humanity towards patients, he said, ‘The payment of Rs 1,17,000 was paid but they didn’t hand over the body till the payment of Rs 8,00,000 was cleared. Which the authorities have told me they will redeem in any case,’ said Nandgaonkar.

Nevertheless Nandgaonkar told that he respects all the healthcare workers who are unselflessly working amid Covid-19 pandemic.

‘Hospital are a place for treatment and not LOOT,’ leader said and asked all the hospitala in the city to stop charging heavily.

Furthermore, he mentioned that he was told at 11 am on Thursday about the issue. He assured them he will be their in the next 2 hours. “My deepest condolences to the autorickshaw driver whose dead body we brought with due respect and performed the last rites.

“Don’t show me your attitude if you can’t handle mine,” he wrote.
