Senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan moves Supreme Court against appointment of M Nageshwar Rao as CBI's interim director

Senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan has approached Supreme Court against the appointment of M Nageshwar Rao as the interim director of the CBI.

Prashant Bhushan, through an NGO Common Cause, has approached the apex court against the appointment of M Nageshwar Rao, wherein as per the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi’s verdict, it was mandatory that the panel has to decide over the appointment and removal of the CBI director.


And, in this particular case, the Department of Personnel and Training had issued a notification wherein Rao was appointed as the interim director of the CBI, after Alok Verma was sacked from the post by the select panel.
