Sad to see AAP, Navjot Singh Sidhu quarrelling for power: Congress

News Agencies | Updated on: 18 August 2016, 15:26 IST

With the match over former BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu joining the AAP in Punjab put on hold, the Congress today said it is disappointing to see them quarreling over distribution of political power instead of working towards the state's development.

Congress spokesperson Sandeep Dikshit said he is aware of the current negotiations between the AAP and Sidhu, but added that he is stunned to see both so ridden with greed for power.

"Some negotiation is going on I know that, but the saddening point here is that it would have been better if the discussion was about the betterment of Punjab... But in reality all this fuss is being created for selfish motives and greed for power. And this is bad on the part of AAP and as well as Sidhu," said Dikshit.

According to reports, Sidhu initially had said he will not contest in the upcoming Punjab Assembly polls and just wanted an AAP ticket for his wife.

As per reports, Sidhu has now made a U-turn and is demanding tickets for himself as well as his wife Navjot Kaur in the upcoming Assembly elections.
