RJD Lalu Yadav convicted in Fodder scam case, granted five-day parole to attend son Tej Pratap's wedding

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has been convicted in the Fodder scam case and serving his sentences was today granted a five-day parole to attend the wedding ceremony of his elder son Tej Pratap later this week. Tej Pratap, RJD MLA will tie the knot with Aishwarya Rai, daughter of RJD MLA Chandrika Rai on May 12 in Patna. The duo got engaged on April 18 in which former Chief Minister, Lalu Yadav could not attend it.

Upset by father Lalu Prasad's absence, Tej Pratap posted an emotional message on Twitter. He simply wrote, “Miss you Papa”. Lalu is likely to be in Patna between May 10 and May 14. An application for parole was sent to Jharkhand Jail IG on Tuesday, according to RJD national general secretary and MLA Bhola Yadav.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is serving his sentence in three fodder scam cases related to fraudulent withdrawals from the Dumka, Deoghar and Chaibasa treasuries had filed a plea seeking for provisional bail before the Jharkhand High Court which got deferred till May 11 on account of a strike by lawyers.

Earlier, in last week, Lalu Prasad who is facing several health issues was shifted to RIMS in Ranchi from AIIMS Delhi after doctors there declared him fit to travel. Lalu wanted to continue his treatment in AIIMs and said, 'i don't want to go' but his efforts ended in disappointment. He alleged there was a “political conspiracy” behind his discharge from AIIMS.
