Jaipur: A hotel in Jaipur was allegedly vandalized by the nephew of state minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas on Wednesday.

"We have registered an FIR and will conduct a detailed investigation based on its contents. Once we gather the evidence, we will promptly arrest the accused and ensure justice is served," stated Shiv Narayan, SHO Vaishali Nagar.

Altercation and Hotel Owner's Account
According to the hotel owner, Abhimanyu Singh, the incident unfolded when Harshdeep Khachariyawas, the nephew of Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, had an altercation with another guest.

Subsequently, he demanded that the hotel staff open all the rooms to search for the individual.

"Yesterday, around 10 pm, Harshdeep Khachariyawas arrived at the hotel in a drunken state, accompanied by 5-6 people. They engaged in an argument with a fellow guest. I received a call regarding the situation, with the nephew using Pratap Singh Khachariyawas' name to abuse our staff. They demanded to know the room number of the person they argued with and insisted that we open every room to find him," revealed the hotel owner.

Refusal and Vandalism
However, when the hotel staff refused to comply with the demand, Harshdeep called in approximately 20 to 25 boys, who proceeded to wreak havoc on the hotel property.

"The safety and security of our guests are of paramount importance to us. We firmly denied their request to open the rooms and instead advised them to return the next day to resolve the matter. We even offered our assistance in case they needed any evidence for their investigation. Despite this, they became enraged and brought in a group of 20-25 boys who not only damaged our property but also threatened us," expressed the hotel owner, who also serves as the Managing Director.

Police Response and Allegations
The hotel management promptly contacted the police, but only two officers arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, the group of boys continued assaulting the person with whom they had an altercation, right in front of the police officers. The entire incident was captured on the hotel's CCTV cameras, but the police allegedly took no action and instead allowed the group to take the individual away.

Allegations were also made against Harshdeep Khachariyawas and his associates, claiming they attempted to destroy the CCTV footage from the server room downstairs. In their attempt to do so, they even broke a television set. However, the hotel staff managed to prevent the complete destruction of the evidence and retained the recordings.

Threats and Faith in Justice
The hotel owner further revealed that they have been receiving threats since they pressed charges against the accused, given his connection to a prominent Minister.

"We have been facing threats and harassment. We have received numerous calls, and we are under immense pressure, with the perpetrators claiming that they have government backing. Nevertheless, we place our faith in the Ashok Gehlot government, believing in the state's law and order. We are confident that justice will prevail, even if delayed," asserted the hotel owner.
