Rajasthan: 3 killed as car falls into deep gorge

At least three people were killed and two others were injured after their car fell into a deep gorge on December 26 in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district. The mishap took place after the car lost its control and collided with a divider, police said.

The dreadful accident took place near Rati Mangri when the passengers were returning to Chittorgarh from Udaipur.


The injured have been admitted to a hospital and are undergoing treatment.

According to Balwant Singh, Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) at Mangalwad police station, the driver of the car lost control and the vehicle fell into the deep gorge after colliding with the divider.

The deceased were in their 20s and identified as Sanwaria Somani (27), Gaurav Agarwal (22), and Raghunath Singh (24).

The bodies were handed over to the families after autopsies, ASI Singh said.

The Indian Meteorological Department issued a dense fog alert for West Rajasthan during the next 48 hours, adding that the dense fog likely to continue over East Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.
