Ahead of the CAG’s report on Rafale jet deal, a report in The Hindu has again made news where it has claimed that some key provisions and rules for anti-corruption laws and penalties were dropped while Rafale deal was signed.

In an expose by N.Ram of The Hindu Group, the report has described the waiving off of the laws were unprecedented from a government which has always been a crusader of corruption in defence deals.

N. Ram has claimed that “Priyanka Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi roadshow in UP, Priyanka Gandhi roadshow in Lucknow, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Uttar Pradesh, Congress, Effect of Priyanka Gandhi on Lok Sabha polls, Lok Sabha 2019, national news, catch news.”

Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram tweeted targeting the BJP government’s loopholes saying, “No penalty clause for undue influence, no clause against agency commission, no clause for access to suppliers' accounts and Dassault goes laughing all the way to the bank.”

Further stating that “No sovereign guarantee, no bank guarantee, no escrow account, yet a huge amount was paid as advance.”

BJP further targeted The Hindu saying they are working in tandem with Congress party, “The Congress and this newspaper are in tandem. The Congress is playing a dirty game and harming the military.”
