Punjab police issues alert about suspected terrorists in a car

Punjab police officials on 6 April, issued an alert over three Pakistani terrorists and a local from Punjab reportedly travelling in car from Jammu and Kashmir.

Police have warned that the men may target Delhi, Mumbai and Goa. The terrorists reportedly are heavily-armed and carrying a suicide vest.

A report in NDTV suggests that the car is a grey Swift Dzire with the license plate JK-01 AB-2654.

Another media report added that the extremists were reportedly holed up in Kulgam or Avantipora on their way to crossing the Banihal tunnel during the night of 6 April.

Security officials have been asked to step up security and conduct comprehensive security checks at important military buildings and public places including markets, malls, train stations and educational institutions.
