The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad has released an official statement of the Common Admission Test 2015.
A total of 2,18,664 students registered for CAT 2015, the IIM Ahmedabad report states. However, only 1,79,602 students appeared for the exam that was held at IIM Ahmedabad on 29 November 2015.
Here is the gender breakup of the students who took the CAT
Male candidates: 1,21,291
Female candidates: 58,270
Transgender candidates: 41
Pune has the highest number of CAT takers in the country.
A total of 17 students scored a 100 percentile in the examinations - including Indore boy, NIT Trichy graduate, Prateek Bajpai and Delhi boy Sanuj Mittal. Only one female candidate finds her name among the list of those with 100 percentile scre.

All 17 of the students in the 100 percentile list are from an engineering background.
The results for CAT 2015 were announced on 8 January. The results can be accessed on iimcat.ac.in.
