On his birthday, PM Modi will launch projects worth almost Rs 3,800 crore in Gujarat

Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi is visiting his home state - Gujarat - for the second time in less than 20 days. This time, he is the state on his 66th birthday.

In the Dahod district of Gujarat, PM Modi will announce projects worth almost Rs 3,800 crore at Limkheda.

The projects, which include six water supply and four lift irrigation projects, have been organised under the Gujarat Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojna for the districts in the state's forest belt.

According to reports, the Bhartiya Janta Party will celebrate Prime Minister Modi's birthday today as Sewa Divas and BJP President Amit Shah will participate in a cleanliness drive in Telangana to mark the day.

Union Ministers and party MPs will also travel to different parts of the country to spend time with the poor and underprivileged sections of society.

While all these preparations to celebrate PM Modi's birthday were taking place, it was also reported that Gujarat Dalit rights leader Jignesh Mevani was detained by the Gujarat police from Ahmedabad airport on Friday night, hours before the PM landed for a two-day state visit as part of his birthday celebrations.

Jignesh Mewani has been kept at the crime branch office and the police say he will be released shortly. Officials said his detention was to prevent any disruption in the Prime Minister's events, reports NDTV.

On the ocassion of his birthday, PM Narendra Modi also met his mother in Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat.
