Nepalese national held with heroin

A Nepalese national was today arrested with heroin from the Sonauli area on the Indo-Nepal border here, a senior official said today.

 Sagar Rana (23), who was on his way to Nepal from India, was arrested during a routine checking at the Sonauli bus stand and 25 g of heroin worth Rs 25 lakh was seized from him, Sonauli check post Incharge Satish Singh said.

The accused was booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, he said.

Uttar Pradesh shares a 599.3 km-long open border with Nepal touching seven districts - Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Sravasti, Balrampur, Sidhharthnagar and Maharajganj.
