NCW sends ‘fact-finding team’ to Rajasthan to look into alleged sex racket run by IAS officer
The National Commission for Women (NCW) on January 13 informed that it had taken cognisance of the matter in which a commissioner from Rajasthan accused Pawan Arora, an IAS official from the state, of operating a sex racket.
The Commission has formed a three-member fact-finding team that will be visiting Rajasthan to probe into the matter. The team is headed by NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma.
The NCW, in a statement, stated that it has come across several media reports in which a commissioner accused the IAS official of operating a sex racket.

As per the statement, a woman has claimed that Minister Shanti Dhariwal is shielding Pawan Arora, who she claims has been harassing her.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the NCW has also written to the Rajasthan Director General of Police to look into the matter and ensure that a fair and time-bound investigation is accomplished.
“The Commission has also sought that relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code must be invoked if the allegations are found to be true. A detailed action taken in the matter must be apprised to the Commission within four days,” the statement reads.
