Amidst the Kartarpur Corridor controversy, Navjot Singh Sidhu has raised the slogan for the upcoming Lok Sabha election 0f 2019 and has said that Rahul Gandhi is his commander.

Referring to the 2014 Narendra Modi’s election campaign’s slogan, about “Acche Din” Sidhu has said that “Hum Rahul Gandhi ke sipahi hain, mera naara hai ki bure din jane wale hain aur Rahul Gandhi aane wale hain, Lal Quila pe jhanda phairane wale hain. Koi rok sake to rok.”

Talking about the Kartarpur Corridor and his visit to Pakistan which courted controversy all over the country and he was criticised for being a “Pakistani agent” by Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Sidhu said “When I first went to Pakistan and talked about them promising Kartarpur Corridor, the critics mocked and made fun of me, now the same people are licking their own spit and taking U-turns.”

While being asked by the news agency ANI about his visit to Pakistan wherein CM Capt. Amarinder Singh had advised him not to go to the country for the ground breaking ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor, he said “Ok, but atleast 20 Congress leaders asked me to go, Central leadership asked me to go. Punjab CM is like my father, I told him that I had already promised them(Pakistan) that I will go.”

The Kartarpur Corridor has been an esteemed project of India and Pakistan for the shrine of Guru Nanak Sahib and on his 550th birth anniversary, the Indian cabinet accepted the demands as was earlier suggested by Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu.
