Mumbai: 21-year-old TV actress allegedly raped by doctor, blackmailed; accuse arrested

A shocking incident has been reported from dream city Mumbai, where a 21-year-old model and actor was allegedly raped by a 55-year-old doctor. According to reports, the police officer said that the accused is practising doctor who came into contact with the victim while she was working in a TV serial.

The FIR has been filed on the basis of a complaint recorded by the woman and case has been lodged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused has been nabbed and sent to police custody till May 10 and further investigation into the matter is underway.

The police official probing the allegations against the doctor told media that the accused was arrested from his Chembur residence on Sunday.

The model-cum-actress, in her complaint, said that she came in contact with the doctor in 2017 when she was referred by his friend to consult him with respect to skin treatment. After this, they became friends. However, the complainant alleged that the woman was raped and blackmailed by the doctor who clicked her private pictures.

Meanwhile, a report by Hindustan Times quotes an official probing the matter claiming that the doctor rented a house in Versova for the woman and account details have revealed that transactions were made from his account to complainant. Further investigation is underway.
