Mumbai Crime: Conman arrested after 27 years of run

The Mumbai Police have solved a 27 years old case and arrested 68-year-old conman who was on the run in connection with the cheating and forgery case. The imposter identified as Virendra Sanghavi, was arrested in connection with a case filed by Rajeev Khandelwal.

According to the police, Sanghavi had promised Rajeev shares of various companies, valued around Rs 20 lakhs at the time, and cheated him by providing forged share transfer certificates.


The Mumbai Police had registered a case against Virendra Sanghavi in 1995 after the complaint was filed by Rajeev Khandelwal.

Police are now investigating that whether Rajeev was the only person to whom Virendra has conned in the name of giving shares or whether there are more people like him.

The case was filed at the DB Marg Police station.

Further investigation is underway.
