Mumbai: 5 injured in gas cylinder explosion in Vile Parle

At least five people were injured after a cylinder exploded in the New Kalpana Chawl area near Western Express Highway in Vileparle (E) on November 8 early morning. The injured were admitted to the V N Desai Hospital, and their condition is stable. 

According to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official, it was a level-1 cylinder blast that took place this morning at 6 am.


The injured have been identified as Jayram Yadav, Rakesh Kumar Rai, Hare Kumar Rai, Amar Rai, and Arun Kumar Rai.

In a similar incident, three workers employed with a caterer sustained severe injuries in a cylinder blast at Chhabildas School in the Dadar area on November 3. The blast occurred in the middle of the night, while the workers were sleeping after completing their work for the day.
