Mithun Chakraborty's son's wedding cancelled after police arrives to investigate rape charges; wife and Mahaakshay gets anticipatory bail

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty's son Mahaakshay aka Memo was schedule to marry Madalsa Sharma on Saturday that was cancelled as the police arrived at the venue to investigate a complaint of rape and cheating filed by a woman against the groom, police sources said. Mahaakshay’s marriage was to be conducted on July 7 at the actor's posh hotel in Udhagamandalam (Ooty) in Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu.

After the arrival of the investigating team, the ceremony was cancelled and the bride’s family left the place, police said. Further investigations are on, they said. On Saturday, Delhi Court granted anticipatory bail to Mithun Chakraborty’s wife Yogita Bali and son Mahaakshay in the rape and cheating case.


Meanwhile, Mahaakshay’s wedding has been postponed, a hotel official said. Granting Anticipatory bail to the veteran actor’s wife and son, Special Judge Ashutosh Kumar asked them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh with two sureties of the like amount.

According to to report in Mumbai Mirror, the court has directed them not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses and to join the investigation whenever required and cooperate with the probe agency.

A woman has alleged that Mithun's son Mahaakshay on the pretext of marriage, cheated and raped her. The woman also alleged that when she got pregnant, he gave her a medicine that led to an abortion. She also stated that Mithun's wife and Mahaakshay's mother Yogita bBali threatened her with dire consequences if she continued her relationship with Mahaakshay.
