Manish Sisodia sent to 14-day judicial custody

Manish Sisodia was arrested in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22.

Sisodia was presented in court on Saturday after the CBI remand period ended. The court then extended his CBI remand for two more days. Today, he appeared before Special Judge MK Nagpal after his 7-day custodial interrogation expired. In court, the CBI alleged that the former Delhi deputy chief minister did not cooperate with the investigation and gave evasive replies, despite being confronted with evidence.

Meanwhile, Sisodia’s advocate has filed a bail application before a Delhi court, on which hearing shall be start on March 10. The court has also asked the central agency to file its reply.

In the bail plea, Manish Sisodia stated that keeping him in CBI custody is purposeless as all the recoveries in the excise case have already been made.
