In the latest development in the Delhi excise policy case, Rouse Avenue Court has sent Delhi's former Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia to 14-day judicial custody till March 20.

Sisodia has been in the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) custody for a week following his arrest. As per reports, the former Delhi deputy chief minister will be lodged in the Tihar Jail.

Manish Sisodia was arrested in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22.

Sisodia was presented in court on Saturday after the CBI remand period ended. The court then extended his CBI remand for two more days. Today, he appeared before Special Judge MK Nagpal after his 7-day custodial interrogation expired. In court, the CBI alleged that the former Delhi deputy chief minister did not cooperate with the investigation and gave evasive replies, despite being confronted with evidence.

Meanwhile, Sisodia’s advocate has filed a bail application before a Delhi court, on which hearing shall be start on March 10. The court has also asked the central agency to file its reply.
