The accused allegedly created several fake social media accounts with obscene descriptions and photos of the woman.

The Delhi Police arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly cyber-stalking a woman, sending her obscene messages and pornographic images.

The accused allegedly created several fake social media accounts with obscene descriptions and photos of the woman.

The incident came to light when the complainant got several obscene messages and photographs, and she later reported it to the Cyber Police Station, Dwarka.  The woman alleged that some unidentified person has created fake Facebook profiles with her photographs.

"During the investigation, details of fake Facebook accounts and virtual numbers were obtained and analyzed,” police said. Based on the technical inputs, a team of Cyber Cell raided at Mahaveer Enclave, New Delhi and arrested the accused.

The police identified the accused as Mahaveer Singh, a vendor who sells plastic items on the street. Singh, who is physically handicapped and unmarried, allegedly created fake profiles under his brother’s (Manwar Singh) direction who liked the complainant but didn’t get any reply from her after messaging her.

The 32-year-old man disclosed that his brother used to stay in the same building as the complainant years ago.

Dwarka cyber police have registered a case under sections 67/67(A) of the IT Act and further investigation is underway.
