Maharashtra poll results: Aaditya Thackeray ahead with 7,020 from Worli assembly seat after first round

The youngest Thackeray of all, Aaditya is on the driving seat with 7,020 votes from Mumbai’s Worli assembly constituency after the first round of counting in Maharashtra polls, as per the Election Commission.

The 29 year old is the first member of the Thackeray family to contest elections in the Party’s history.


Aditya Thackeray is fielded against Suresh Mane of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Gautam Anna Gaikwad of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) and Vishram Tida Padam of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Worli assembly constituency.

At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 21 assembly constituency in Maharashtra, while its associate Shiv Sena is leading in 13 seats, according to official trends from EC.

On the other hand, Congress is ahead on five seats, while its ally, NCP is leading in 15 seats.

Independent candidates are ahead on four seats and the Krantikari Shetkari Party is leading in one seat, as per the EC.

There are 288 seats in Maharashtra assembly, the state went to polls on 21st October.
