Madhya Pradesh: Villages goes under darkness for hours as power cut off for Rajnath Singh's 'safe' chopper landing

In the mid-month of May when the temperature is on the peak, around twenty villages in Madhya Pradesh' Satna goes under darkness after the power was cut off for more than 12 hours to make safe landing of Home Minister Rajnath Singh's chopper. The local administration decided to cut off the power supply, while Satna is expected to witness a maximum of 42 degree Celsius today.

A notice of power cut in Satna was published in the local newspaper on Friday. The notice stated that the power supply would be barred from 4 pm on May 19 to 6 pm on May 20, as two high voltage power lines pass through the area, where the home minister's chopper was scheduled to land.

The power cut triggered a massive protest, as villagers reached the local power supply office after which the power was restored at about 3 am in the morning today. The Home Minister too different route to travel to Satna, where he will unveil a statue of Thakur Ranmat Singh, who fought against the British during the mutiny of 1857.
