Lucknow court blast: Several lawyers injured in explosion

A bomb blast at Lucknow's District Sessions Court at around 12 pm on Thursday, has left several lawyers injured. The blast was an attempt to attack lawyers present in the court, India Today reports claimed.

According to the reports of Times of India, three lawyers have been injured on the premises.


 

An advocate named Sanjeev Lodhi, was targetted in the attack Republic reports said.

Sanjeev Lodhi, a joint secretary of the Lucknow Bar told media, "My colleague named Jitu Yadav is behind this attack on me. I demand immediate protection (from the authorities) and arrest of the perpetrators. The district judge and the courts should crack down on such anarchist element in the court premises."

He also lashed out at the security inside the court premises by saying miscreants can easily come inside and cause trouble. 

Meanwhile, there is chaos in the court after the explosion. Lawyers have sustained some minor injuries.

The Wazirganj police have rushed the spot and are probing the incident. Police have also recovered three live bombs from the scene.
