Memes are the current social trend to propagate any message in the form of joke or sarcasm, it tickles the funny bone of people and sometimes also gives a message. People change sometimes very simple and serious message into the funny joke. Mumbai Police has used this trend on social media many time to propagate a public message. By using any trendy meme or joke and giving it a serious perspective too. Previously popular memes like ‘Ghar se nikalte hi’ and ‘If you don’t love me at…’ the meme was delivered by Mumbai Police to spread a message, Now it has again used a trendy meme to propagate a message of cyber security ‘Kurkure latch/lock’.

 

If you are active on social media like Facebook and Twitter then till now you may have come across a meme with a photo of a door with a broken latch and safeguarding by using a tender Kurkure stick. Mumbai police also came across this meme and decided to use the picture for a different message. A message regarding safeguarding your online accounts with a strong password and not feeble as Kurkure.
Mumbai police posted the meme on its Twitter handle by modifying the message that “If this is your password, you are doomed.” and advising that “passwords are not for mere consolation! They must ensure protection”. The virtual world is fragile and also lack a proper system of vigilance. So, in that situation, people can all be protected by spreading awareness. And Mumbai Police knew how to do it.
