
Polling for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha election begins in 51 seats in 7 states. Two incident of violence was reported from Kashmir and West Bengal on Monday Phase 5 polling. A grenade attack took place at polling booth in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama.
However, no casualties have been reported. Stones pelting was reported from another polling booth in Tral area of Pulwama. Clashes between Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was reported from West Bengal.
TMC workers in Bengal agitated against Arjun Singh, BJP candidate Barrackpore in West Bengal's Chakathalia Surya Sen Pally area alleging that Singh misbehaved with women supporters.
However, Singh alleged that TMC workers attacked him in front of the police. "I was attacked by TMC goons who have been brought from outside. Those people were scaring away our voters. I am injured," Singh said.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has sought a report from the district administration over the violence and clashes that broke out in Barrackpore.
In another incident from West Bengal, Shantanu Thakur, BJP candidate from Bongaon, has alleged that TMC conspired to kill him in a road accident. Thakur said that the TMC is loosing Bongaon seat and therefore they tried to kill him.
EVM glitches also reported from several polling booth in West Bengal. EVM malfunction has been reported from three booths in the Salkia area of Howrah in West Bengal.
