[Just In]: J&K: 2 army personnel and 2 terrorists killed in encounter in Handwara

Two army personnel and two terrorists were killed in an encounter today in Handwara town of Jammu and Kashmir.

The encounter took place when the security forces had launched a search operation at Laribal Rajwar (Handwara) forest area in Kupwara district between troops of 21 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and militants during the night.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the spot to augment the strength of the security forces and hunt down the militants.

Previously on 3 September four militants and a soldier were killed in an overnight encounter in Handwara.

The encounter took place after security forces launched an anti-insurgency operation on 2 September following information about presence of militants in the forest area of Sochalyari in Handwara area.
