Jammu and Kashmir's Education Minister Naeem Akhtar's Srinagar residence was attacked by petrol bombs in the middle of the night on 1 August.

Two petrol bombs were hurled at the compound of his house in Parray Pora, one of which landed within the premises, and the other landed outside. No injuries have been reported from the incident, and the house is reportedly vacant.

Naeem Akhtar currently resides in his official bungalow at Gupkar Road, amid high security.

Kashmir has been in serious turmoil since almost a month now, with the death toll at 55, and curfew still raging at certain areas of the state.
